February Newsletter

Pom/Cheer Team
On February 1st we will be holding a clinic/tryouts for our Pom Team from 5-6:30pm.  Any child adding Pom  as a 2nd class will receive this class at a promotional rate of $24 a month.  This clinic of February 1st is FREE for all kids ages 5-18 so bring all your friends.
Parents/Siblings in Classrooms
We ask that you please be considerate of the teachers and all parents and siblings wait in the designated waiting areas unless asked by the teacher to come in to view child. Children seem to do a lot better when there are no parents in the classroom.  All their attention is focused on the teacher. When a parent or sibling enter the room the teachers loses all attention of the children because the kids are busy trying to see who walked in or what they are doing. There will be exceptions for brand new students who may be nervous or timid on her 1st lesson.
Fundraisers
We try to offer at least one fundraiser per month. Fundraising can help with tuition, costumes or even boutique items.  Please see the front desk if you are interested in any fundraisers.
Valentine Grams
Valentine grams will be sold at the front desk starting January 31st and ending February 9th.  The grams will be delivered after class on February 14th to the 16th.  Valentines grams will be sold for $1 and will consist of a gram and a cookie or cupcake.  You can by one for your dancer or dancers can by for their friends. Also you can call Dedra 812-4948 or Megan 701-7710 to order a gram for your dancer to surprise her.
Bullying
Please remind children that they are expected to act the same way at dance as at school.  Dance is to be a positive environment for your child to improve self esteem.  Bullying will not be tolerated.

Our Christmas Production is right around the corner! There are a few things we need to do in preparation for this show.

We are excited to announce that this years Chistmas Show is a “production” not a “recital”. This means that our dancers are telling a story and are specific characters throughout the show. That being said, we need every dancer to come up with a “whoville” costume of their own. Please refer to the movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” with Jim Carey for costume ideas. Also you can google Whoville or Grinch Stole Chistmas or get on Lynn’s School of Dance Facebook group page for ideas. Keep in mind that your child is dancing and the costume needs to be appropriate for movement. Also as part of this production they need to have “who hair”. You will need to purchase a wig and style it “who hair”. They will be wearing this costume and wig during the whole recital except for their ballet and extra classes such as hip hop or pom. We have casted a Grinch, Cindy Lou and Max (the dog) so look to whoville towns people as your inspiration. Be creative with your costume, over the top Christmas whoville style.

Jewelry and Tights:
Please make sure your dancer has all jewelry and tights needed for recital. Last chance to order before the recital.

Company Xmas Party:
We will have our annual party after the light parade. Please keep gifts around $10. Bring a snack to share.

Tickets:
Tickets will be sold at the studio on Wednesday, December 7th from 4 to 7. Seats will be limited due to 1 show.
